For Immediate Release January 18, 2008 Weightlifter Casey Burgener and his Father and Coach Mike Burgener to Represent USA Weightlifting at the 2008 Good Luck Beijing Weightlifting Olympic Test Event in Beijing, China, Jan. 22-23 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-USA Weightlifting will be represented by super heavyweight Casey Burgener (Bonsall, Calif./Colorado Springs, Colo.) and his father and coach Mike Burgener (Bonsall, Calif.) at the upcoming 2008 Good Luck Beijing Weightlifting Olympic Test Event that will be held in Beijing, China, January 22-23, 2008. Burgener will compete in the men's 105+kg weight class on Wednesday, January 23. The Good Luck Beijing events serve as the dress rehearsals for the Olympic venues prior to the 2008 Olympic Games which begin August 8, 2008. Burgener will be competing for the first time since the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand, September 17-26. At the World Championships, Burgener posted the top finish for the U.S. Team, placing 11th with a total of 400kg (182kg in the snatch and 218kg in the clean and jerk).
